Why should suppliers test with ICON?

ICON provides impartial evidence of performance that hospitals and procurement teams trust. Reports give you a credible advantage in tenders and help build stronger relationships with buyers.

Can results be shared across my team?

Yes and no. Reports may be accessed by individuals or, when purchased with a corporate (sharing) licence, permanently shared across a trust for that specific report. For broader, ongoing corporate access to all reports, a subscription plan is required.

What do I receive after testing?

Suppliers receive a detailed report, an official grade, and certification covering all tested product pairs. This can be used internally or shared with customers.

How do I request an ICON report?

You can start by completing the booking form on our website, or if you prefer, contact us directly by email or phone with your project details. Our team will review your request and guide you through the next steps.

How are the tests made to be fair?

All consumables are tested under identical conditions with controlled macerator setups. We have strict protocols to prevent bias.

What is the typical lead time for a report?

Project timelines vary based on scope and complexity. We provide a timeline during the booking process and keep you updated throughout.

Can I ask about the test procedure before ordering?

Yes, we are completely transparent about how we operate. Supporting the development of maceratable items is the priority.

Can I send only one product to be tested?

Of course! We are happy to assist with any amount of testing requirements.

Can testing results remain private?

Yes. If your product is submitted confidentially, results will remain strictly private and will not be published or shared outside of your organisation.

How much does a report cost?

Report costs vary based on the required testing. Contact us, and our experts will help you determine the best testing for your needs.

How are products scored?

Consumables are assessed across three different phases, including basic, stress and complementary tests. Grades are issued based on maceration performance and debris size.

Can I request a re-test?

Yes. Suppliers can request triple testing, where products are tested three times and given an averaged grade. Triple testing is recommended for certification and publication, as it proves consistency, adds procurement incentive, and gives products enhanced visibility on the ICON platform.

What is within the scope of testing?

Our testing focuses solely on how well a product macerates under controlled conditions. It does not assess patient safety, usability, machine reliability, operating costs, or other factors beyond maceration performance.
